2-day Private Fujian Tulou Exploration Tour to Nanjing and Yongding

Pick up at the hotel at 08:30am. You will enjoy a 3 hour driving. Upon arriving at Tianluokeng village, have a bird-view of the magnificent “Four Dishes and One Soup” layout of the earth buildings. Tianlukeng Tulou Cluster is a masterpiece of traditional Chinese residential buildings. It is home to the Huang Family. There is one square building-Buyun Building, one oval building- Wenchang Building and three circular buildings-Zhenchang Building, Ruiyun Building, Hechang Building. All the buildings are well preserved.

Enjoy the lunch at local hakka restaurant.

Later, continue visit the “rickety building”-Yuchang Building. It was built in the late Yuan Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty (around 1368) and is the oldest and largest round building known so far. The biggest feature of the Yuchang Building is the column's inversion, with a maximum inclination of 15°. It looks like it is teetering. However, it has undergone seven hundred years of erosion and numerous earthquakes. It has still remained the same as ever and has become a living specimen of ancient residential buildings.

Stroll in Taxia Village along the tranquil river. Known as “Zhouzhuang Watertown in south of Fujian”, this village has a long history of over 700 years. It has more than 300 households currently. Taxia Village is a typical Chinese Hakka village and also home to many overseas Chinese. Take a look at the ancestral hall, De Yuan Hall where the local hakka people worship their ancestors.

After dinner, enjoy the magnificent view of Tianluokeng Clusters at night.

After breakfasts, your guide and driver will escort you from the hotel to Hongkeng Tulou Cultural Village in Yongding County. The driving distance is about half an hour.

The Hongkeng Earth Building Cluster is a residence of the Lin family. It was firstly built in the middle of the 16th century (Ming Dynasty). There are dozens of earthen houses of various types such as mansion house-style, circular, square, palace-style and other types of earth buildings. There are 13 large-scale earth buildings here built in the Ming Dynasty including Fengsheng Building and Yongyuan Building. And 33 large-scale earth buildings including Fuyulou, Kuijulou, Yanglinlou and Zhongzhulou which were built in Qing Dynasty.

Visit the earth buildings. The prince of the earth buildings- Zhengcheng Building ; The smallest Rusheng Building; magnificent mansion style building-Fuyu Building; Kuiju Building and Huanji Building, etc.

Enjoy a lunch at the tulou family restaurant in Fuyu Building.

After lunch, transfer to Hekeng Tulou Village. Hekeng is a relatively closed ancient village. It currently has 16 different earth buildings. The oldest earth building was built in 1549 and has undergone nearly five hundred years of vicissitudes and still in use.

Transfer back to Xiamen after visit. Enjoy some rest during the 3-hour drive.
